Fixie Bikes

Fixed Gear bikes or simply Fixies, is a fixed-wheel bike that removes both derailleurs, gear shifters, brakes and all extra sprockets, making it a single-gear machine without a free-wheel. This means all your speed is regulated by your legs which certainly results in more exercise, due largely to the lack of coasting ability. Fixies have been getting quite a bit of attention recently, not only for the bikes themselves but the sub-culture that goes along with it.
